23rd Ave shut down for an hour after truck vs. tree

Today just before 5pm a Habitat for Humanity pickup truck lost control on 23rd Avenue, struck a tree on the east side of the street, and rolled over.

Witnesses tell me that the male driver suffered only minor injuries, including a small cut on his chin.

And as is often the case with these, the tree came out on the winning side, only losing some bark while the truck was totaled.

The accident shut down traffic in both directions on 23rd for more than an hour while a tow truck worked to right the vehicle and haul it away.
