2009 was the second year of the daily scanner report, covering the events of Seattle’s East Precinct as they happen. We had 231 reports, recording 3,805 individual events. Here’s how they shook out:
- 614 Disturbances – (down 26% vs 2008) – with lots of shouting, blocking, arguing, and refusing to leave
- 311 Suspicious Circumstances – (up 44% vs 2008) – mostly where people think someone is casing their area for burglaries

- 261 Shoplifting events (down 6%)
- 244 Accidents (up 10%)
- 178 Assaults (down 3%)
- 165 Alarms (down 23%)
- 127 Robberies (up 8%)
- 122 Fights (up 27%)
- 105 Burglaries (down 45%)
